This was my 4th Dave concert and I have to say it is the most memorable one yet. Dangerous Hours was played with so much energy I could feel the power of Dave's voice run through me. Song that Jane likes was a suprise because of its older roots, but once Dave exclaimed, "I have a sister Jane...she likes this song" I knew I was in for a revitalization of an older treat. About 3 minutes into the instrumental prelude to One Sweet World many knew what they were in for. Dave's face said it all. He was playing with such emotion and passion, I could hardly conatin my sparatic screams. As usual Boyd made every attempt to break his violin strings...as expected, he succeeded. Although these were great moments, the best was the peformance of Crush. Jamal Milner's electric guitar performance was a surprise during the often mellow playing of Crush. He went as far as playing with his teeth, and Dave seemed to have no objection to the impractical performance. I can truly say this was a concert that will be etched in my mind for a long time.

Ahhhhhhh! That was the best DMB show I've ever been to! I was so happy to see that they were playing some rare ones. Help Myself was a nice one to hear considering I've never heard it live. And Two Step was awesome as usual. Stefan took a slide solo on a guitar. Yes guitar, not a bass. When Dave started in on his lyrics, Stefan switched back to bass. Dave had one instrumental jam and he went off. As far as I could tell it was total improv. Dave had shorts on, a sight I've never seen also! But I guess it had to do with the temperature being 104 degrees that day. The encore was definitely the show stealer. Angel from Montgomery and Watchtower! Does it get much better than that? After Boyd sang the 1st verse the whole band came in on Angel! And surprising a good amount of the crowd knew the words. Watchtower started off with a Stefan solo. Dave was so stoked on this song. In the last verse the band stopped and then... "AND THE WIND BEGAN TO HOWWWWLLLLLLL!!" Wow, what a show. I need this one CD-R.

This concert a great vibe going into it after Crash Dave just had the place rockin. Two Step was great as always. The second song Help Myself I had never heard but liked it. Angel was another song I hadn't heard and i really think that the encore should have gone Watchtower then Ants. Leaving out Ants is a SIN Dave. I didn't like Angel too much. It was bad for an encore song. Overall it was a good concert with alot of good songs but I think its just terrible to leave out Ants. That song always leaves things on a good note with the crowd. Great concert Dave.

This was my fourth show this year, and I would have to say it was one of the best, great setlist tonight and the band seemed really into it, dave came out wearing shorts because of the hot weather, "song that jane likes" was a good surprise, but I would have to say the best song was the either "Help Myself," or the closer "All Along the Watchtower." Overall great show.

Let me start off that even though it was 100+ degrees in Raleigh Sat. night, DMB still pulled off one of the best shows I've seen so far!! Boy Wonder was an awesome opening band. Lots of high energy. That definitely helped get the crowd psyched up. "What Would You Say?" was a great opening for the show and got everybody on their feet and dancing. "Help Myself" was a surprise, but I also noticed that a lot of people sat down and started talking during it. It's amazing how rude people can be! Once "Warehouse" started up people were dancing again. This show was the first time I heard "Crush" performed live, and it was excellent. The "Song That Jane Likes" was pumped up, and now my favorite version^_~ "Too Much" was pretty standard fair, but "Two Step" absolutely blew me away. It was S-U-P-E-R-B!!!! I was happy that they tagged the Dixie Chicken outro to "Crash Into Me" and I absolutely loved the Instrumental intro to "One Sweet World." The way Leroi played that oboe (that was an oboe right?) was beautiful! "Jimi Thing" was jammin' as usual, and people went nuts! Although I'm not a big fan of "Rapunzel" you had to like it that night because they performed SO well! There was about a minute tease of "Lover Lay Down" and people were all excited, then they pulled "Tripping Billies" out of thin air. It was great! The encore of "Angel From Montgomery" was a complete surprise. Boyd and Dave sang an excellent duet. Again though, people sat down and talked if they didn't recognize the song. "All Along the Watchtower" was no big surprise, but it was a wonderful rendition. The woman sitting next to me, Suzanne I believe her name was, worked for the band and when the opening guitar for "AATW" started up she sighed, "I thought they weren't gonna play THIS." Guess you can't please everyone. Overall, the show is DEFINITELY worth getting on tape(I know I'm looking for a copy!!). Of course you won't be able to see the kick ass lights they have this year(or feel the heat), BUT you will hear some of the best playing by them yet!!

Absolutely phenomenal show. I was a little let down with a WWYS opener. But Help Myself and Warehouse were excellent. Two Step was also phenomenal, as was Jimi Thing, all the guys had amazing solos. Dave and Boyd were really into it during the long jams during Jimi Thing, Two Step, and Rapunzel. I looked around while they were jamming face to face and everyone in the crowd was smiling ear to ear. Very exciting. Overall the show had a ton of energy. Even the slow songs kept the crowd jumping. Heard my first #40 live. Beautiful melody, unbelievable that they can play such a smooth song with such emotion and energy. Seems like every Walnut Creek show is a great one.

Let me start off by saying this is the best DMB show I've seen or heard. I called the opener and it was all good from there. The best Two Step I've ever heard. Carter jammed! OSW was great with the intro jam. Dave was jamming hard in Jimi. Great encore!!!!!

Second DMB show for me, and it was definitely the best and the highlight for my summer thusfar. The "boys" were having a lot of fun and the crowd welcomed the intensity of the music with open arms. WWYS was an excellent opener, the bridge got the crowd up and dancing. Not many people knew Help Myself, but I was singing it all the way through. Awesome song. Then came the inevitable Warehouse (and it kicked major bootay). I really love to hear the Stop-Time intro to that one. Crush was next and all I gotta say is JAMAL MILNER!! He's part of the Charlottesville, VA music scene (electric guitarist) and longtime friend of DMB. He really lit it up when he started playing the guitar with his teeth. Next up was a song that i thought I would never hear live and definitley my favorite: "Song that Jane Likes." This one really got me pumped up. Great old DMB song, and while most of the people around me were sitting, I was up and singing along with Dave. SMTS and Too Much were standard. It was nice to hear an electric guitar accompanying Dave on that one. Two Step was excellent, but would have been a tad better with the "Red Rocks" outro. Still nice to hear for the first time. Crash was absolutely beautiful and all the Daveheads were up and dancing. I don't think I saw one girl not dancing with a guy on that one. OSW was very appropriate after Crash, the intro gave me chill bumps (yet another oldie Dave brought out for the evening). Next up was Jimi Thing, and the long outro with Dave giving us an accoustic solo that just blew everyone away. I thought he might have broken a string, he was viciously stumming his guitar. Another crowd favorite was PNP-->Rapunzel, a little slower than usual, but the jams made up for it. Tripping Billies was next and it rocked the socks off everyone there. Boyd's solo here was inexplicable. Just put it this way, he's the man!!! For the encore, Angel was short, but the Boyd/Dave connection there worked out very nicely, definitely a highlight of the nite. I was glad to hear AATW for the first time, a lot of intensity was put into it...."no reason to get excited!" Everyone on stage had his own solo at one point of the evening and every solo really put the specators in a daze. Songs I would have like to hear: Recently, Ants, Lover, #36, R&R, and #40. But after the show at Walnut Creek, I will no doubt be back for more Dave in the future. If any of the band is reading this, you gave me back $35 for lawn seats. I would have payed much more to hear "genuine" music, such as this. Thanks guys!

I'm not sure which show those who reviewed this show saw, but what I saw was by far the worst Dave concert I've ever seen (this being number 10). The set list was fine, but the tempo of the entire band was horrific. Every song was way under tempo and the band seemed like they had all taken a bottle of downers before they got on stage. I feel sorry for those first-timers...this was not the real Dave Matthews Band.
