Well, as you can see from the setlist the show really didn't follow any traditional pattern. I don't know what happened, but second song in Leroy just up and walks off stage. Health? Politics? Whatever, it left a big hole in the band. Dave finally said something to the effect of "It's alright we'll have fun tonight anyway." It was interesting to see who stepped up to fill the gaps in the songs: Butch. He seemed to be the only one stepping up his parts. I was a little dissapointed that Dave shyed away from chances to solo, especially during Jimi Thing. And you could tell that they threw whatever setlist they were planning right out the window and were winging it, choosing the next song right after they finished the previous one. It was a shortened show, the highlight for me being Maker. Maybe I listen to too many bootlegs and have heard just way too many amazing concerts but I have to say, this one was a little dissapointing. Leroy, if you're reading this: Please my man, don't ever do that again. Here's hoping they make it up to us at Chula Vista on Tuesday.

let me start off by saying that LeRoi was only on for the first two songs, which was kind of a disappointment for my first show. The setlist was good but I wish i went to yesterdays instead, though dancing nancies was a nice touch. The opening of smts and the closing of tripping billies was a nice, but I still can't get over why LeRoi wasn't there.

Tonight's show was another great one. DMB started with SMTS, WWYS, R&R getting the crowd all warmed up. Then a couple of songs later, Leroi ended up leaving. I'm not sure why he left, I heard he got sick. You can definitely tell the setlist had to be rearranged. I was thrilled to hear Crash In to Me at this concert, it was my first time hearing it in my now 6 shows I've seen them here in L.A. I was more than happy to hear DDTW, Jimi Thing, Grace is Gone, The Maker and Tripping Billies. The highlight of the evening was definitely Dancing Nancies. Boyd just wouldn't stop!! He was so full of energy and you could tell they were all feeding off his vibe. It was awesome to watch and listen to them play this. I was a little thrown off balance that after Dancing Nancies they followed it with I Did It. Overall, I enjoyed both nights at the Home Depot Center, it's a gorgeous venue and the weather was great for a summer outdoor concert. I'm sad to see them go but I'll get to look forward to seeing them again next year. Thanks again DMB!!

First row! Right in front of Boyd for my 7th show. The setlist was not too bad, even though IDI was played. Leroi left the stage during Stone and never returned. He didn't look comfortable at all onstage, and apparently threw up. He was escorted off the stage, and unfortunately never came back. Dave skatted to fill in the blanks where Roi would have played. First time I have heard Nancies & Maker, so i was pleased to hear them! Loved ASTB --> WWYS. I always love hearing the Bridge, and Dave was dancing his ass off. Can't help but smile when he does that... Stefan had a slide guitar brought out for an intro for Grace which was pretty nice... Boyd and Dave did their little face-off, walking in circles jam. Billies pumped the crowd up so much. There really isnt a better encore closer. ALSO, Gravedigger was played for the first time this tour, and a 3-song encore firs the first time, i believe.... I can't wait for Chula Vista on Tuesday. Lets hope Leroi is alright, and hopefully we'll hear some rare tunes come out again. Cheers!

Well I hate to sound like a broken record, but this band truly is magical. Not ONE song repeated from last nights show. I could've done without a couple of the Everyday songs, but still a nice setlist. The Maker! First time I've seen it with the band. Wonderful stuff. Boyd tore up Nancies and Billies per usual. Sort of an odd show as well. Roi wasn't there. Apparently he was sick? Dave broke out into what sounded like would be Some Devil before going straight into What You Are. For about four songs in a row beginning with Don't Drink The Water Dave improved some lyrics or scat noises. I think I'd have to rate this show a HAIR under last night's performance. Still wonderful stuff! See y'all in Chula...

Well, the second night of LA did not disappoint. The band came in and played a setlist without a single repeat of the night before. Great use of ASTB into WWYS to switch things up a bit. Rhyme and Reason was vicious and I was a bit upset that they didn't do the outro to When the World Ends that was performed by D+T. THE STONE. So sweet, even with a new little twist from Boyd on the fiddle. Don't Drink the Water...ironically dedicated by Dave to the "soldiers fighting overseas." Political agenda ? Jimi Thing was sweet, sweet and sweeter. And Nancies was sensational with a beautiful lyrical improv at the beginning . But I did it? why oh why? What You Are had an awesome intro with lyrics about devils...sweetness. Gravedigger had energy and Tripping Billies closed nicely. Let's get back to the brass tacks...no repeated songs. Sweet job gentlemen...Chula vista ho!

Back for a second helping of DMB goodness at the Home Depot Center tonight. By far the CRAZIEST & shortest show I've ever attended. It's been awhile since I've been shoved at a concert, so thanks to all of those around me trying to ruin my time. Sorry, but it's going to take more than a few drunk idiots to ruin my good time! Enjoyed watching Dave dance around like a funky chicken during Anyone Seen the Bridge. During When the World Ends, my friend Patrick noticed that Roi was sitting on a stool, and during the Stone I noticed that he was gone. It was just about this time that I saw a few security guards run behind the stage over towards his side. Then about 8-10 staff members helped rush Roi offstage. Rumor has it that the poor guy was puking. What? A show without Roi? I panicked and thought the show might stop. No worries, the band played on and Butch filled in for all of Roi's parts. Dave dedicated Don't Drink the Water to their "fallen soldier" and ensured us "Yeah, we're gonna have a good time anyway." He later thanked us for joining them and "for hanging in there." The boys pulled off an amazing jam during Jimi Thing and then went right into the biggest sing along song of the show, Crash Into Me, in which Dave broke a string. The greatest highlight of all for me came when, after anticipating it for 15 shows, I FINALLY had the opportunity to hear Dancing Nancies!!! FINALLY..."Could I have been anywhere other than COMPTON..." It was a long jam - loud, fun, & definitely worth the wait. Oh, a word to the wise, when you're drunk at a concert, don't attempt to fight the security guards. I saw a few people taken away during I Did It and they never returned - GUILTY AS CHARGED! During the encore break, the crowd around us on the floor was chanting "Ole Ole." After Dave's solo Gravedigger performance came the night's second biggest highlight for me - hearing the Maker for the first time. It was so sweet & beautiful and long overdue. To bring back the crowd's energy, the band closed with the most intense Tripping Billies I've ever heard. I thought Carter's drums were going to explode on this one! I'd like to acknowledge the fact that even though the band played without Roi, I think we all had a pretty good time anyway. Each band member just overcompensated themselves to make up for their missing game piece. I think it's safe to say that this show belonged to Butch. So glad he was there to step up to the plate. Thanks for another great night. See y'all in Chula. Still stoked over hearing Nancies - Heather
