What a show! This being my 11th show so far and I must say it was awesome. Having seats in the fifth row helped as well! My only problem with this show is that it seemed really short. But that can be overlooked because this concert rocked and had alot of good and solid songs! Anyways, the audience was really great and the band was really spunky tonight. Dave was just relaxed and Stefan was really energetic. However, LeRoi hardly gets credit for the awesome stuff he plays on the Saxaphone and tonight he was AMAZING. Ok...on to the show...Too much was a great opener and caught me by surprise. The next memorable song for me was Dancing Nancies! Dave switched the lines a little bit when he says, "Could I have been lost somewhere in Utah..." It was awesome! Bartender was powerful and LeRoi did a great solo on the pennywhistle! Where Are You going was nicely done fallowed by a powerful and energetic string of songs starting with So Much To Say, Ants Marching and then Wharehouse with the "Whoo!" intro. True Reflections just came out of the blue and was really neat! I was personally hoping for Dreaming Tree or Lover Lay Down tonight and I got my wish when Dave then played a really, really, beautfil version with LeRoi doing a sweet solo. Typical Situation was really well and LeRoi was at it again with another great solo. When The World Ends was ok but Two Step was awesome and Carter went nuts on the drums as usual. I really liked the encores. The band played a really nice version of Digging A Ditch fallowed by a powerful Tripping Billies! What a great night! Whoo!

Well, I have been to about 15 DMB shows now and last nights show was a disappointment. I thought the band lacked energy. When the band played Fool to Think, I think it was the worst song I think I have heard DMB play in concert. They seemed out of sync for about half the show. Warehouse, Lover Lay Down and Typical Situation were great to hear in the same set. Two Step was off the hook as usual, and Tripping Billies was a good closer. That's about it.

This was a great show. I was impressed with all the jams. They jammed out on Too much, Dancing Nancies was killer, True Reflections had a great Butch jam, Two step was sick. The best long jams i have heard in a while. The fans around me didnt like it much and actually cheered over Leroi's flute solo. He got pissed and stopped and Dave was like "Cut it out." After the song you could see them all talking about it and so they gave him another solo and people started to cheer him out again but Dave put a stop to it. Let them jam I say. They are so talented and get to show it off during the jam solos. Other than that i loved this show. I was so glad to hear the jams. Good tunes. A lot of repeats from Denver but they like the new venue and played with passion. Great energy.

Ahhhhhhhh...... My first Dave show. Dancing Nancies was great. Warehouse was better. Two Step was even better. The perfect encore of Digging a Ditch and Tripping Billies made me very, very happy. The only unsettling thing aside from the massive amounts of pot smoke (cough hack weeze) was the fact that there was absolutely no BTCS songs, I was a little disappointed. Oh well Two Step and the SMTS-->ASTB-->Ants made up for that.

Well, despite having missed the first few songs due to a traffic jam, the show was incredible. Needless to say I'm very upset to have missed Dancing Nancies, but maybe next time. Dave's voice was going out on him after Bartender, so I think that's why they played True Reflections, Lover Lay Down, and Typical Situation--some softer stuff on Dave's part. The SMTS-->ASTB?-->Ants was awesome, I think the last time they did that was in Salt Lake during the Olympics. Typical Situation had a sweet little messed up jam, that completely threw me off, I wasn't sure what they were doing. Warehouse was awesome, I was the first one to "WOOO" I think. It was right after the first little "da-na-na-na-na" and I nailed it, it was sweet. Two Step was just incredible, I've been waiting to hear them play that for four shows (2 years) now, and they finally did, I was hoping they would jam it out, and that they did--nice long Butch solo, Carter's, Stefan's were both just amazing. The crowd was horrible where I was sitting, I really dislike drunk people at concerts, they kind of ruined it for me. They'd yell during nice quiet jams, and Dave speak, they'd sing the songs off-key and off tempo, spill beer everywhere, it was just plain annoying. The whole crowd would actually sit down during the best parts of the show like: Typical Sit. jam, Two Step jam, Lover Lay down. Well, the new venue is perfect, you can actually hear what's being played, when at the Delta Center the acoustics were so horrible, you couldn't hear anything. The crowd pretty much sucked. The music was primo. Ultimately, great show.

Was this '95 or '03? I'd be willing to bet a sizable amount of $$$ that it's been years since DMB has gone with Too Much, Nancies, So Much, Ants, Warehouse, True Reflections, Lover, Typical, Two Step and Billies (w/Nature) all in the same evening...not that we were AT ALL unhappy with these classics being played Tuesday night in Salt Lake. It was actually quite unbelievable especially considering how the band mixed up traditional pairings like Nancies/Warehouse and So Much/Too Much. We were guessing the entire night -- which after dozens of shows was a BIG treat. Dave mixed a few lines from the Talking Heads tune "Once in a Lifetime" in the Nancies intro as well. Anyway, as usual no complaints with DMB...the lines outside before the show were ridiculous and the crowd was uninterested for the most part, but this did not deter us at all. Rock on DMB.

After seeing the guys tear it up in Denver, we made the eight hour drive west to SLC to see them the next night. I'd been to multiple night stands in the same city, but this was the first time we'd seen them back-to-back nights in different cities. The new USANA venue had gorgeous views, but minor security/traffic issues because it was new. But they'll work those out with time I'm sure.
