i didnt think they could match last nights show but the boys managed to match it and maybe even top it, day two at alpine was so great.dave again said its his favorite venue and again no let down.pig is a great song and a great opener, granny was going back to the good old days, WAYG is a good song but i saw it 7 for 7 this year.If I had it all is my fav. everyday song so that was sweet, and the song of the night for me was NANCIES, ive been wanting to see this and finally i did, and to make it even better they went into WAREHOUSE after with the stop time wooo intro.R&R was sweet to see again, OSW is always good to see with the intro.first time seeing #41 and it was sweet with the everyday at the end. SMTS->ASTB -> TOO MUCH was crazy cuz dave was stomping around the stage. grace is gone is a great song to see live, and so was I did it. two step was the best version ive seen when carter went off . encore was great too, gravedigger is such a good song for dave to play solo, and when the boys came out i knew ants was coming and it was great, boyd had a great solo. so i want to say thanks for a great 7 shows this year, and ill see u again next year

This show was really, really strong. The band played with a ton of energy, and Dave, despite announcing that he had a frog in his throat (then a horse in his throat) was giving it 110%. Boyd had numerous awesome solos, as did Butch and Carter (Roi was pretty quiet tonight for some reason) I knew it was going to be solid when they opened up with PIG and went straight into Granny. I immediately thought - this is why I come to Alpine Valley!! Highlights for me were Dancing Nancies, #41 with a schweet Everyday outro, SMTS -> AnyoneSeentheBridge -> TooMuch where Stefan went just insane. And Carter's drumming on Two Step. Low lights:(if there were any) Set list had about 8 repeats from Tweeter (World) last Thursday, and they played I Did It. I kept wondering if we were going to get a LIOG or Rapunzel, or even somthing other than GIG off of Busted Stuff. Not to be, but what can you say - this show put a huge smile on my face. thanks guys

Upbeat, old-school, and all-around fun would be the theme of this show. This was my 12th time seeing them and possibly the best. Dave once again mentioned that Alpine Valley was his favorite place to play...He definitely showed us that!! Pig started off the show and easily put a smile on my face...just great to hear. Granny brought a more tender feel to the show to follow that up. If I Had It All was one of only two Everyday songs and fit in well. Under the Table was played heavily, including Rhyme & Reason, Dancing Nancies and Warehouse. The crowd really got into during Nancies and exploded during Warehouse. The lighting during the show really brought each little accent of the music to your eye...each drumbeat offset by light/no light, and the sax and violin highlighted by reds and yellows. Dave always takes center stage with blues, greens, and pure white...back to the music. One Sweet World was really nice with a cool intro and smooth outro. The energy got going during So Much to Say but hit the highest point on the way to Too Much. He did some scatting and rapping and went absolutely crazy during ASTB. I have never seen so much raw emotion as he hurdling himself around the stage at the start of this song. He nearly lost his guitar and inner earpiece along the way...this was definitely the highlight and brought the house down. Grace and I Did It were sweet. #41 was so much fun and long. Two Step got everybody up and moving around and was super long. Carter really gave everything tonight and dueled with Butch Taylor several times during this song...great closer. Dave came out alone and went into Gravedigger...very pretty song, but very mellow and dark...hoping that the band takes their part soon. I must say I called this one (Cari got her wish). Yes, Ants Marching was incredible from start to finish...did I mention Boyd yet? He went absolutely ape and lost his sunglasses!!! Dave just stood back in awe and finished out the night with a bang. Two days at Alpine were equally amazing and worth it all.

Excellent show! The setlist tonight was very good, lots of older stuff. Dave only used the electric guitar on one song (I Did It), and never needed the 12 string. The Pig and Granny opening songs really got the huge Alpine crowd pumped up. Where Are You Going satisfied some of the "radio fans". The midset was great with an intense Dancing Nancies, with Warehouse following right after. Rhyme and Reason was great, same with One Sweet World. During the "Anyone Seen the Bridge" Jam between So Much to Say and Too Much, Dave just went NUTS. He shuffled across the stage doin' the Dave dance and letting his guitar swing. After 20 shows I've never seen him go THAT wild! It was really neat to watch. #41 was excellent as usual, Butch added some nice piano solos, and the song ended with the Everyday chant. Dave also reminded the crowd that Alpine was his favorite place to play (he also said this last night). The end of the set and encore were also amazing, with Two Step and Ants Marching... both songs were jammed out well. Boyd went nuts during the end of Ants. Overall, the two nights at Alpine were EXCELLENT shows. Great energy, very intense! I'm not about to say that they were the absolute best I've ever seen, but they certainly weren't a let down. I give em a 9.5 out of 10....

Well, the Band did it once again at Alpine. They outdid themselves. Opening with Pig was great and got the audience going early and kept us going. Granny, which was great to hear, had everyone singing "Love!". Glad to hear that song again as well. I knew we would hear Where Are You Going and I am glad we got it early and out of the way. Yet another sing along. If I Had It All was great to hear and was one of two Everyday songs tonight. Dancing Nancies was amazing tonight. Dave started by talking about how wonderful it was to have everyone in one place and how peaceful it was. Then he started the "Could I have been's" and the crowd went nuts. "Could I have been lost somewhere in Chicago" was the highpoint of the intro and had people screaming. The Energy Boyd and Dave put out in this song was crazy. Jamming together about a foot apart and the Dave dropping it into Warehouse was nice. Steffan and Crater got thier fists pumping and the crowd responded with a mixture of "Hey's" and "Whoo's". Glad to hear that song again. Rhyme and Rason was standard with dave adding a "Fuck" in there somewhere. right before the intro to One Sweet World, Dave played a few chords from Minarets and alot of people noticed. OSW was great, but #41 was for me, the highlight of the night. Glad to hear this song again, and with Butch's solo and adding the chorus of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones "Sourjn or Arjuna", the crowd really got dancing. LeRoi came out strong in his solo and the the Everyday outro came back. Dave did the verse to Everyday, and evertime the Band stopped, the crowd responded with a soulful, "Everyday". Even after dave stopped singing the verse, the still continued with the breaks and we just kept at it. Probably the best version of #41 I have heard live. So Much To say ws great and I could see Stefan going for his pedals at the end of the song which meant....Anyone seen the Bridge!...Which shopuld have been called "Anyone ever seen Dave dance like he did tonight?" After the scat intro to the jam and as soon as Fonzie his the bass grooves, Dave was jumping, dancing and shaking all over the stage and the crowd went nuts. The drop into Too Much was great and we all were singing again. it was great to hear Grace is Gone again, the secong and last repeat of the two night stand. I Did It was standard and Two Step took us home. It was all Carter in Two Step. He owned the drum kit tonight. He made it his bitch if you will. Dave couldn't believe what he was hearing and had to turn around several times to see it for himself. Gravedigger was once again amazing to hear. Dave puts so much power into this song, its downright badass. Ants Marching closed the night and the boys were done with Alpine for another year. Great show put on by all. I want to thank Boyd, Stefan, Carter, Leroi, Butch and Dave for the 2002 tour. The 5 shows I attended were some of the best that I ever heard. This tour alone I was able to hear songs like Pig and Dancing Nancies for the time and hear Gravedigger change from the 4-26-02 debut to the more powerful 9-1-02 version. Thanks again boys and hopefully we will see you in 2003!!! Peace and Love, Collin

Just got back from Alpine valley and i am soo pumped! I thought the show was fantastic. One of the things that made it so good was the crowd's energy. This was the most energy a crowd has had at any of my dave shows. It could have just been where i was. I was in the Lawn, up front and just right of the sound booth. Pig was a great opener and OSW is always great to hear. I love the intro. First time i heard nancies and warehouse and two step. This was my fourth show. I loved all three of those songs. A huge highlight was dave's energy in the end of SMTS and into Too much. Overall great concert! i am four four with ants as a closer but thats ok because its a great way to end a night!! Next time we will get rapenzul, eric!!

A great concert for night two! Only two repeats (WAYG and Grace), and a lot of DMB staples. I was 7th row dead center, never this close before, and it's amazing to see band member characteristics and emotion that close! It was hot and humid -- Dave was drenched. The band looked like they were having fun, except for Leroi. He really wasn't sounding like he should have during the first half of the concert. Carter and Fonzi were tight and having a great night. Boyd was really good, and Butch is simply the best addition to their live act! Okay... some show details. Pig and Granny- tight as hell, and Dave was slap-happy! WAYG- Some bad audio feedback off the top that wiped Dave's smile right off his face. Nancies- Great intro, but Dave gives props to the Chicago peeps... errr, but the song was great. World- Leroi! Just put the damn thing down and take a rest! The intro was so bad, Dave made a few subtle facial expressions... it was funny though. #41- Has been my #1 song for a long time, solid with Boyd -> Butch -> Leroi solos, and a funky Everyday outro... probably the best I've ever heard this song. ASTB- Dave lifts his guitar above his head and starts dancing around the stage like a damn ape, seriously the funniest shit I've ever seen him do, and my highlight of the night! Two Step- This is why Butch needs to be a member of the band... he blows me away with a great solo, and Carter kicks ass, period. Ends with a Dave-solo Gravedigger and a classic Ants. This was an absolutely amazing experience, and I already can't wait for Alpine next year!

Oh dear God! This is the best show we've seen to date. This was our 14th show and Dave and the boys out did themselves tonight!! Night 2 did not stop the surprises when dmb opened with PIG! Once starved to hear this in concert...we have now heard it twice this summer! Next...Granny, which is always a welcomed tune. A typical WAYG then on to If I had it all was all good. However, nothing could top Dancing Nancies into Warehouse. This combo was the one we wanted to hear. Boyd was on fire as per his usual. A nice Rhyme and Reason and correct me if I'm wrong, but was there a Minaret tease? An incredible One Sweet World had the crowd crooning. On to highlight number two. #41. Need I say anything else? This happens to be my favorite dmb song and I am never disappointed.... Then after we catch our breath from that song, on to SMTS. Dave really cut loose here and danced his trademark dance and really seemed to be enjoying himself. Then they segued in to Too Much. What great crowd pleasing songs. Our seats were shaking, we were all singing and just when you don't think it can get any better he gives us Grace is Gone.......he did a very nice job on this song. Can the band really ever disappoint us? I think not. We see Dave strap on the electric guitar so I know it's gonna be something from Everyday. I Did It was the only song I'd toss out from the set list tonight (I'd put in #40). While we're all praying for an oldie, he must have read our minds.........we were blessed with a great Two Step. Butch did a very nice job and Carter is simply a drummin' God. For the encore Dave came out solo and did a damn fine job on Gravedigger. I love this song and hope to hear it more and more. I pegged the closer and knew I was right when Carter started hitting his drums. Ants, as always, was a great end to a great concert. This concert was great, the energy was incredible and the night nearly perfect. Nothing like Alpine Valley!!

Well, after last night I wouldn't have dreamed that the boys could have topped it tonight, but they sure played an amazing show. Again, Alpine was like an energizer battery. I've never seen so much energy in my life. Leading off the show, PIG! Great song, love it where ever they put it in the setlist. GRANNY-great! Somewhat a surprise though, they haven't played this much during the summer, but always great to hear. WHERE ARE YOU GOING-this early? Still good to hear, no loving wings. IF I HAD IT ALL-the song isn't bad, pretty good live actually. Then, my night was made. DANCING NANCIES followed by WAREHOUSE!!!! WOW WOW WOW!!! Dave did a huge intro to nancies starting with "Don't you ever wonder?" and then the line, "Lost somewhere in Chicago" got everyone going. This was fantastic, with Boyd shining with a big solo. Warehouse is always fantastic, and these two songs are two of my favorites of all time. RHYME AND REASON-pretty good. I love this live, very deep and energetic. Then, Dave started to play the first few chords to Minarets. A definite tease, because for a few seconds I really thought they were going to bust it out, but oh well, maybe at the Gorge. ONE SWEET WORLD- great! Always fun to hear this one. Another highlight: #41!!! My favorite song of all time, and they were excellent. Boyd started with a great solo and then surprisingly kicked it to Butch, who was awesome, and then to Leroi! I loved this new change, it added so much. Then the Everyday outro, nice touch. SO MUCH TO SAY-->ANYONE SEEN THE BRIDGE-->TOO MUCH! Isn't this always awesome? Dave made this even more amazing, when during the bridge he broke out into the sickest, most crazy dance, that had everyone screaming. GRACE IS GONE- nice, but did we have to hear this three nights in a row? Not to take away from it though, it is a great song. I DID IT- sucks, and was unnecessary. TWO STEP-fantastic! It was awesome tonight, and Butch and Carter, were amazing. Especially Carter though. I've never seen anyone so talented. He's incredible. GRAVEDIGGER-when you dig my grave, could you make it shallow, so that I can feel the rain? It was great tonight as usual. Dave is so emotional on this, makes a great encore song. Finally-ANTS MARCHING!! Could we ask for more?!? It's such an exciting song. It's always perfect. I loved it. Great show, great year. I went to five shows and loved them all. I also was lucky enough to meet Dave on Thursday, so this year has just been a great one. See y'all next year. Peace, love and DMB!

Alpine Valley was rocked again! Although tonight's set was probably a little better, last night was still my favorite out of the two. A few more memories. Alpine is like a bomb ready to explode....gets louder and louder. I couldnt even hear myself screaming during Ants at teh end. PIG was a strong opener and crowd pleaser. I knew Carly was smiling for sure :) it was nice to hear GRANNY since they havent been playing that much. WAYG "Crash of the 21st century"--got it done early. IF I HAD i havent heard this one yet, and actually really enjoyed it live. there is a lot of energy in this song. HIGHLIGHT #1: DANCING NANCIES. Dave did a phenominal intro to this song and Boyd's solo was amzing. Boyd and Dave went oldschool and played off each other. Tonight was about old jams. They took awhile in between the songs, but went into WAREHOUSE. great to hear again and again. RHYME. i wanted to hear this cause i love this song and dave gets really into it. Dave teased Minarets before ONE SWEET, which i would have loved to hear. although at first i didnt want to hear OSW, it was a great song to dance to and the crowd loved it. 41...oh baby. the jam was simply amazing. Butch took over and then the Everyday outro...thank you dave! HIGHLIGHT #2: ANY1 SEEN the BRIDGE? i sure did. dave rocked the house. it got so loud. he did scat and then did a hilarious dance like he did at the Olympics. if anyone has picture, please let me know. TOO MUCH was so energetic it was insane. GRACE. i could have been without this one since this is the third show in a row that ive heard it. i would have liked to hear something else. oh well. I DID IT. i was about going to have a heart attack. i couldnt believe they would kill this set with this song choice. TSB would have been fine, but IDI? ouch. Thats ok...they made up for it with a great TWO STEP. wow. all i can say is Carter is GOD. after Butch soloed, Carter moves his hands is ways i dont think humans are supposed to. he is simply amazing. GRAVE: nice to hear again. i love this song. ANTS: obvious closer. as i said, i couldnt even hear myself screaming the song and crowd was so loud. This was a magical weekend thats' for sure. No matter what the situation i will always make it to Alpine for a show. its a great place for music. i would have loved to hear You Never Know, LIOG, Jimi Thing, Say GOodbye, but STIR IT UP made up for it. Dave Matthews Band continues to surprise and thrill me. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU DMB! have a good rest of the year and i hope to se you this winter, or next year. Rock on DMB!

First of all, I would like to thanks my wonderful girlfriend Kari for the tickets to tonight's show; I love ya, babe! I also would like to thank the band for another top notch concert experiance, it gets better everytime. Show highlights: Pig- one of my personal favorites, I've been waiting all summer for this one. Even though it's a sweet song, i'm not sure of its quality of an opener. The Davespeak going into and Dancing Nancies itself was awesome, it had a world peace vibe to it and a great Boyd outro. One Sweet World- with the Won Suite Whirled intro AND the scat outro, incredible. SMTS and Too Much were high energy as always but Anyone Seen the Bridge? was off the charts! Dave went nuts and did the coolest dance I've ever seen him, or anyone else for that matter, do. Grace is Gone was sweet as always and Two step was unbelievable. My only dissapointments were If I Had it All was out of place and I Did It lacked the energy I've seen it have before. All in all, a really good show can't wait until next year!

Again, I am speechless. Nancies with the "Could I have been lost somewhere in Chicago" was steller just as Boyd's solo was. Wherehouse was crazy. Minarets got a nice little tease tonight too! But the absolute highlight for me and probably everybody else had to be the So Much -> Too Much. The guys fed off the crowd and the crowd fed off the guys. Very loud and energetic crowd was groovin' away and then during Anyone Seen The Bridge, Carter went nuts and played his ass off and the crowd went nuts, then Fonzi let loose and fed off the crowd. Dave got caught up in te craziness and started flailing all over the stage hving his arms and legs go everywhere. I have NEVER seen the band have so much fun as the did during those jams. A killer closing and show number 22 for me may be one of the best ever... See y'all at the Gorge!

I really enjoyed tonight's show. PIG was a terriffic opener and I'm really glad they've been playing that song this year. GRANNY was a surprise but was really cool to hear. DANCING NANCIES is a fabulous song that always excites the crowd, but I think people were confused when he said "could I have been live somewhere in Chicago?" WAREHOUSE was really energetic with the stop time intro and the crowd's "woo's." Felt like everyone was on the same page. #41 was awesome and I'm glad they played it tonight. I haven't heard it in 5 shows and it was worth the wait. Butch's solo was amazing as he emulated how Bela and Coffin jam on that song. It was a real treat. Best song of the night. TWO STEP was great and really left th e set with a bang. Carter's piece was very cool. The encore was predictable, but I love GRAVEDIGGER and ANTS is the fan favorite. It's awesome to see everybody screaming at the top of their lungs for one song. Alpine brings out the best in people.

What an amazing show!!! I feel so lucky to have been there. It was amazing. I had the time of my life! The crowd was so into the music and everyone was singing along and dancing! it was a beautiful night, perfect tempature. Ants Marching was definatly the best song of the night. I had lawn seats, and being surrounded by all those people all just singing along and having the best time was amazing. Everything was perfect about the show. One Sweet World was amazing! I can't describe it in words. Definatly the best time of my life.

Night 2 at alpine was just as good as last nights. Opening with don't burn the pig and granny. Sweet! Dancing Nancies and Warehouse were off the wall. just excellent to hear DN at alpine. Dave was having fun big time. during ASTB he was dancing like a mad man on fire. Rock on dave. two step is always wanted and alpine got it. the encore was good. gravedigger is such a good song and Ants, well we were all marching to one beat this weekend and to say it was excellent is still not good enough. Thanks to the boys for coming and playing at alpine with the swager they did in "00. Keep it rocking and See you all and Dave at Farm Aid. To all fellow DMBers, Keep DMB rocking and keep the world full of peace and joy. Take care

OMG! This was my 5th show, and by far the best. This was also my 1st at Alpine, and after seeing the band and the crowds energy... I dont think there's anything else I can say but... "Fucking Amazing!" So heres the review. Pig as a starter was an awesome choice, b/c it got me and the crowed going. I guessed Rapunzel or 41... But was very pleased with Pig. Granny! I was soo happy to hear this, and it really got the crowd groovin. WAYG was standard, but still nice to hear. If I had it All- Dave put a lot of emotion into this which was nice. I would have liked to hear WYA are So Right, but... cant complain. The next two songs i called. Nancies right into warehouse. NANCIES WAS INSANE. Boyd really really showed off his skills on this one. And the Dave improv "could I have been..." in the beggining was very cool :) Warehouse was nuts as usual. Ryme and Reason! I dont think you can really fully appreciate this song until you see it live. It was awesome. By this time in the show i was impressed by the variety the setlist had supplied so far... but it just got better. Dave started playing some chords, and i coulda sworn it was going to be Minarets, but it was just a tease. He then went into the OSW intro was gorgeous and Leroi shinned a bit on this one, although he remaind quite most of the night. Then came one of the highlights! 41!!!!!! I called this one too. All i have to say is, I FUCKING LOVE THAT FUCKING SONG! It was insane and Taylor really took the crowd on this one. Then came my favorite 15 mins. in the show. SMTS->ASTB->TooMuch. all of the 4 shows i had previously been to, ive heard this combo, and it gets better everytime. I love it. The absolute highlight of the show came in ASTB when Dave went fucking NUTS! He just kinda looked at the crowed, saw that they were really diggin it, and he just... went wild. Dancing like crazy. All i can say is, you would have to see it to believe it. Unbelieveable! Grace is gone was very delightful. I love that song. Then the stage man brought out Daves Modulus. (thats his electric guitar on Everyday for those of you who arent farmiliar) I Knew it had to be IDidIt. B/c I know that the boyz LOVE to play that song. As much as others might not like it, they love it. You can just tell. Right in the opening chords... the crowed kinda calmed down, and then dave gave a weird funny smirk as he tilted his head, almost as if he was kinda saying "Look at me, I did it again, Im playing it again, and I love it!" I have a lotta respect for that song now, b/c of that. We as fans need to learn to appreciate all the music that our boys are playing up there. I amazingly called this next one too as soon as I saw the Bari in Leroi's hand. TWO STEP. We were all in for treat b/c Carter and Butch went NUTS on this. Carter went absolutely INSANE on this one. He truly is a god. The break was short which was nice... and I was very pleased to hear gravedigger. I like it a lot. then came the last one. Surprisingly, i called Ants on this one, and i was right. It was AMAZING! There was a point when i couldnt hear myself yell b/c the entire place was screaming. It was nice. All in all, the boys put on an AWESOME show, and I say thank you DMB! Catch ya'll next year!

I don't know where to start. I went thursday to Tweeter center and it sucked. Alright, today we pulled into the parking lot and i was amazed at all the people already there are 5:00. It was just a great atmosphere to begin with. Once we got into the venue and had 18th row center lawn seats. Dave came up on stage when he introduced Corey Harris and said he had a frog in his throat. He seemed to have had just a FEW beers in him. He was very very talk-a-tive tonight. he was halirous. the band kicked off with an awesome Don't Burn the Pig. Wow it was such a great start to a great evening. Then he played Granny. GRANNY!!!! that was so awesome. WAYG was the normal got the crowd going. IIHIA was sweet. Nancies kicked butt with an awesome intro. Warehouse kicked butt as normal the crowd went nuts. R&R was alright. One Sweet World once agian was a highlight of the evening. They had a Huge jam intro and a great scat outro. Now #41 was definetaly the highlight for me. The just jammed out for it for a long time and then to hear the Everday outro with the crowd shouting it out for dave. it was amazing. SMTS was sweet but during Too Much dave just starting dancing all over the stage non-stop just going nuts it was AWESOME. GIG good to hear since he played it last night. I did it, i dont know why he played that song. and Two Step was another amazing song. The crowd was literally shouting over dave it was sweet. Gravedigger is such a powerful song. Just the words in general are amazing and mean so much and then with dave speaking them it just makes it that much better. Ants Marching the entire crowd knew everyword i didn't see one person not singing that song it was a great ending to a great evening. Rock on Dave. Thank you guys so much for letting me come and forget about all my worries. I thank you guys it mean so much. I hope to see

Dave came out and introduced Corey Harris and said he had a frog in his throat and the crowd would have to help him sing. His voice problems clearly dictated the songs he chose for tonight's set. He had trouble from the start, but it was a very solid show. He incorporated his voice loss into his Two Step intro verse saying something about he woke and his voice was gone, and was left with a whisper. It may sound strange, but the highlight of the night was Dave dancing like crazy during Anyone Seen The Bridge. I've never seen him do anything like it. I was also very pleased to be upgraded to 2nd row for the end of Two Step and the encore by my friend working security there (thanks John).

In one word... The Best! This was my third dave show, two in the past 3 days and it was BY far the best show I have ever seen. I mean, pig was an unpredictable but sweet all the same. Granny...I just sorta listened dumbfounded at the first few notes and then went...JEEZ!! It rocked like always. Where are you going was pretty normal although I was really surprised that he didn't segue with Loving Wings, but I'm not complaining. If I had it all was pretty sweet, I don't listen to everyday that much so I got sorta confused but I got it eventually. Then Dave went into this talk about world peace and how we were all in this little place together. THEN NANCIES!! YES!!!! "Could I have been lost somewhere in CHI-CAGO" Had to laugh. Then when they stopped I told my friend, I guess no warehouse and at that instant he broke into it. With the "woo's" in of course. Rhyme and Reason was pretty fun, pretty normal though. Then my friend heard the first notes of minarets and called that right away but no go. Then One sweet world which is a song that I love a lot. One of my favs. After that was #41 which was kinda unpredictable but fun nonetheless, big jam that was a great thing to hear and watch. NOW FOR THE BIG ONE....SO MUCH TO SAY-->Anyone seen the bridge-->Warehouse. This song was so sweet because EVERYONE sang and Dave went absolutely nuts. He was stomping around like a crazy man. I thought he'd seriously lost it. But it turns out that he was just having a great time. Grace is gone and I did it were fun and high spirited. TWO STEP WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN, HEARD, WITNESSED OR EVEN DREAMED. CARTER WENT SO CRAZED THAT YOU COULDN'T EVEN TELL WHEN HE HIT A CYMBAL. IT WAS SO SWEET! The encore break was sorta quiet, I was really surprised, nobody was cheering. People actually started to LEAVE. Then Dave came out and did Gravedigger which is a great song, kinda weird but cool. Ants was a great closer and had everyone going with the sweet solo's. Oh and by the way in Two Step, Butch had a great solo. I wish they'd make him a permanent member. Anyway, great show, still think it was one of the best. Long live DMB

In a word - Fantastic ....what a show!!!!....This was our 5th show from the summer half of the tour and this one had it all - a magnificent setlist (THANK YOU Dave for #41, Warehouse, and One Sweet World) with plenty of ops for all of us to lose our voices in a huge sing-a-long....in this man's humble opinion, far superior to Saturday setlist; a ton of raw energy from the boys (the image of a sweat-drenched Dave gyrating his power pack right out of his pocket and Boyd rockin' his sunglasses off on several occasions still puts a smile on my face); a remarkable jam from Carter on #41 (the man is a drumming deity) that saw him at one point lose a stick and grab a new one all in one fell swoop; a rockus crowd that never relented from it's fevered pitch; and a great venue (in a middle-of-no-where-sort-of-way). See you all at the Gorge this weekend.

When we were sitting in the parking lot the night before DMB's second show at Alpine, we were wondering how could they possibly top the show from the night before. What we got was a thunderous answer in the form a DMB concert that JAMMED beyond belief the second night. The first show rocked - don't get me wrong - it had the perfect mix of new and old music. Highlights form the first show were *CRUSH*, played crazy like I've never heard it before and *STIR IT UP* - What a Flippin' treat with *BARTENDER* and *GIG* to balance things!!! Gotta love it!! But the second night, from the very moment they stepped on the stage they had the crowd hooked. The venue was packed, maybe even oversold, but the gross amount of people serve as a testament to just how well these EXTREMELY TALENTED musicians jam together. Alpine is just THE PLACE to see them, and the I'm proud of how ALL the fans went crazy for these guys. When DMB took the stage on the second night I swear they turned up the energy 10 notches from the night before. The guys played with an fury that was UNBELIEVABLE, and you could tell, the crowd just fed off of it and pushed it to such a frenzied pace that Dave just FREAKED out after *TOO MUCH*. He had like this tension breaker / musical seizure that turned the crowd on like I've never seen before. You can't tell me he wasn't having a good time that night!!! And renditions of songs like *GRANNY*, *WAREHOUSE*, and *TOO MUCH* ground us and remind us all just why these guys have found such a meaningful spot in all our lives. We love the new stuff, but it's those core songs that will bring us back again and again and thank God that DMB understands that! If you ever have the chance to see him back to back - it's a no brainer - do whatever you can to see both shows, ESPECIALLY if they're at Alpine. You will not be disappointed like at other venues!!!

I must say this was an absolutley amazing show. 16th row and I was blown away. In the middle of Too Much Dave fricken raps and then does his little dance all over the stage it was crazy and he was totally tweekin out with his hand the whole time. Gravedigger solo was probably the most memorable moment of the whole thing though how often will you see that? crazy cray shit dave thank you for a night to remember

My 5th dmb concert and THE BEST I have seen. period. First off, the energy from the band was just phenomenal! I previewed the set list before the concert, and to my suprise, they changed it! Nice choice for the intro! PIG! Was just great, to say in the least! From there it was just honestly the best DMB concert I have ever seen! Dave scatting, talking to the crowd, he always says ALPINE is his favorite place to play, and his little "foot work" dance around the stage! They really did a good job going from early dmb to the latest! Even though I am an OLD SCHOOL DMB FAN, I LOVE I DID IT! BOYD, he just rocks! His solo was brilliant! Personally, I enjoy watching them have "their minute or two" for the solo's, and boyd......well damn, he's just boyd, ya know? :) I dont care what others say, I really did enjoy hearing butch taylor on keyboards..he does add some damn good energy to the band, that the fans can reach. What I really happened to enjoy the most, besides the songs, the atmosphere, etc etc, was the way they had the camera's everywhere and basically it was like watching a live video of the band up on THREE HUGE SCREENS. Now what I mean by that, is the WAY they did it. Reminds me of a modern day pink floyd with the sights of the screens. (slow motion cams, flashes, etc etc.) What happened to roi though? Not much of any solo on his end. sigh.Carter just ROCKED THE HOUSE with his solo, and as per usual WITH A SMILE! From dave dancing, to boyd loosing his sunglasses, to carter handing out his drumsticks at the end of the show, and stayin on stage for a bit, shaking fans hands and just enjoying the last bit of energy that was there,to daves accoustic solo (sweet touch dave!), it was a FLAWLESS performance.... I will SAY AGAIN, the best DMB CONCERT EVER! Kudo's to the band and the road crew!

This was my 14th show and by far and away the best that I have ever attended!! I'm going to keep this short and sweet, most everyone else has covered all of the songs, but I want to say a little something about Dancing Nancies, this was my first time hearing it live and man it was so worth waiting for, just incredible with dave's intro and boyd's solo, WOW, that's all you can really say!! Also, the crowd was just crazy tonight and the band realy seemed to feed off of that! Well, I hope everyone had as an enjoyable time as myself and hopefully we'll get to do it again next year, peace out E

Show #36 for me, and I have to put in my top 5! This show kicked butt. Just about everything I talked about with the good folks I met before the show was in it. PIG -- after years of waiting for this song (and my friends passing out hundreds of 8.5x11 pink pig signs), 2002 was year of the Pig. Loved it each time I heard it; great opener for this awesome night. GRANNY -- way to get the fans into the show. Pig followed by Granny. Good to hear so many belting out "LOVE" to this oldie. WAYG -- a new sing-along. Heard it everyshow this season, and I can't complain about that. Beautiful song. IF I HAD IT ALL -- one of the Everyday songs that is better live v. the album. Well done. NANCIES! Dave was talking again about how great it was to be at Alpine Valley and starts in on the Could Have Beens... Boyd tore it up. The audience dug it. I danced my ass off. And then... WAREHOUSE. Two times I got this combo this summer (Deer Creek), and what a treat. Stop time intro with the audience really getting into the "woo's." This is about where I noticed how much Dave was sweating, with his shirt pasted to his back. Givin' it his all. R&R -- never one of my favorites, but what can I say. Its a good song; they tore it up. Small Minarets tease; would have been too good to be true. But I can't complain -- I did get to hear it last year at Comerica Park. OSW -- always a fan of the orchestral intro. Beautiful song. Nice scat outro, but after several times this summer -- WHERE'S THE SWIM NAKED?? #41 with the EVERDAY outro. What can I say but: Awesome. Great live tune. Almost forgot how much I like the Everyday outro, and the audience again jumped right in on the Everyday sing-along. SMTS --> (ASTB) --> TOO MUCH. Big fan of this and it rocked. SMTS was tight and energetic. Fonzi got the pedal ready and I knew we were jumping into the Bridge. Dave scatted the shit out of it and then danced like a mad man. Only seen him come close to this once -- at All State this summer when he slipped on some glasses and did a little Blues Brothers jig -- but this blew that out of the water. GIG -- three nights in a row? Surprising, but not a coplaint. Love it. It should be the Band's next huge hit. Popular sing-along for the audience. I DID IT. Dave sounded almost apologetic announcing this, emphasizing its a short little number; it doesn't excite me, but I can live with it. TWO STEP -- perhaps not quite as rockin' as Thursday's performance of it (which was about five minutes longer and the high point of an otherwise so-so show (although still well worth the price)), but still incredible. Great jams from Butch and Carter. Way to close the show. E: GRAVEDIGGER -- like this song a lot. Nice of Dave to play it for us Thursday and Sunday back here in the greater Chicago area where he first introduced it this spring. It has developed nicely. ANTS -- awesome ending, full of life and energy. Usual live version. All in all, a great performance. Near-perfect set list; the audience was into it; the vibe was awesome. Thanks for a spectacular night for my last stop of the tour!

Night Two at Alpine, and the band really needed to work hard to top last night. And they succeeded! Don't Burn the Pig opener signaled this night may be slightly more mellow then the previous one, but Granny followed and the crowd exploded. Love! Baby! I had my nancies shirt on, and Dave made up some new lyrics making this the best Granny I have heard yet. I told all my friends that I only really wanted to hear Dancing Nancies/Warehouse, and the band made it happen. Stefan and Carter really got into the Stop-Time Intro, and so did the crowd. #41, So much to Say--> Anyone seen the Bridge --> Too Much was also an excellent addition to this show. The Two Step Intro was amazing, I can't wait to get a copy so I can hear what he said again. Dave came out solo for the encore, and played a hauntingly beautiful version of Gravedigger. Then, the only proper way to end a weekend at Alpine, Ants Marching, left us all singing "lights down you up and die" all the way home. Great show, and I hope to see some of you at Sandstone on Tuesday. Peace and love, Chad

This was my FIRST Dave Matthews concert, if you can believe it. I keep missing DMB shows in Southern Cal, where I live. So, I got lucky when I found out they were playing in WI when I was going to be there. And I got even luckier that I happened upon such an exciting DMB concert! I have no other DMB concert to compare it to, but it was one of the most exciting nights of my life. My tickets were in the second row and it was incredible being so close to Dave and the guys. I loved that freaky crazy dance Dave did when he ducked down and started flailing his legs about. You go Dave! Also great to see the amused faces Dave makes, as if surprised that he is having so much fun. Great opener with Pig. Loved #41, Dancing Nancies, So Much to Say and Two Step. I also enjoyed Grace is Gone. Gravedigger, which Dave did solo, was amazing. I had never heard it before, since I have never been to a concert. Found lyrics on the internet and hope they release it sometime in the future. I really enjoy those slow, haunting songs, like I'll Back you Up from Remember Two Things. I just absolutely love Dave's voice. I would have loved to hear Say Goodbye, because that is my favorite DMB song ever. Maybe at some future concert, since I plan on seeing them again. Enjoyed Tinsley, and damn, Beauford rocks the drums! I am surprised at how much everyone was upset with I Did It on the set list. I know that a lot of fans did not really like Everyday, but I do, and I enjoyed hearing If I Had It All, also. Anyway, I can't get over the amazing time we had at Alpine Valley watching Dave and the guys jamming and having as much fun as us!
