Vegoose Confirmed; DMB Presumed

Bonnaroo-goers have heard the rumors for months, and today they were confirmed: the same group that puts on Bonnaroo will be holding a late October festival in Las Vegas, named "Vegoose". (Named because it sounds like Vegas, only it can be trademarked, like "Bonnaroo.") The event, modeled on Bonnaroo, will be held on October 29-30, and will include the same eclectic mix of artists. Though promoters aren't saying which acts will be included, DMB has been their ace-in-the-hole, so a performance is a sure thing. They tried to put such a concert together a couple of years ago, naming it Bonnaroo Northeast, and they planned to hold it Riverhead, NY, on Long Island. Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds were added to the lineup, tickets were sold, but it was cancelled eight weeks before the event. Promoters cited permit problems, though industry analysts cited poor ticket sales.
