DMB May Play Bonnaroo NE

A Long Island publication is reporting that a massive new music festival, referred to as Bonnaroo NE, will likely include Dave Matthews Band as a headlining act. The event will be a multi-day, multi-band musical showcase, like last year's Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee, with this event held on Long Island. Other acts rumored to be playing include Radiohead, The Other Ones (the Grateful Dead sans Jerry Garcia), Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Bonnaroo's publicity firm (which is, not coincidentally, the same publicity firm that handles Dave Matthews Band) is completely unwilling to confirm that any acts are signed to play yet. The prospect of the event is not a popular one in the small New York town; the show's promoters have been denied the proper permits thus far, for what would be the largest gathering of people in the history of eastern Long Island. Thanks to Matt Casey for the tip. Update: Turns out The Dead changed their name again. Now they're The Dead. Again.
