Larry Wellbrock First off, I thought the venue was very nice. And the crowd was good too. There was quite a mix of older and younger fans and everyone was having a great time. I heard part of the soundcheck - the last half of Watchtower and something new. The my memory is a bit fuzzy - the new one could be the "marimba" jam from Typical but I don't think so. Two Step: Very nice. #41: Roi was awsome, Dave did this strumming thing at the end, and then Carter started his solo into... Say Goodbye: Dave was changing the lyrics around, very cool. BOWA: I'd never heard this live before, it was great. Lover Lay Down: Nice and quiet. Jimi Thing: The sax player from Los Lobos came out for this one and had a great solo. LIOG: Now one of the guitar players came out and they played a real mellow version. FtBoW: I don't remember if the guys from Los Lobos stayed for this one. As has been said it is very dark, but I liked it. PFWYG: I was pleasantly surprised they played this one. Nancies: Boyd tore it up - the people standing near me were very impressed. Crash: I almost thought they forgot about it, but here it is. Billies: Great job on this one. SMTS(ASTB?)->Too Much: I coudn't wait for them to get through SMTS so I could hear ASTB?. I really like what they've done with it but I wish it was even longer. LMP: Excellent - now they need to get Roi and Boyd out there. Ants: Great with that new thing in the middle. Overall I thought it was an excellent show. I was enjoyed the selection of songs and thought they were all played well. The audience was great, they seemed to know almost all of the songs, but still stayed up for the few they didn't.

What a great bunch of musicians... The show at Shoreline Ampitheatre was just great. Two Step got the crowd moving... it's a great show opener. #41...What can I say? Dave's screams were loud, and Roi's jam was phenomenal. Say Goodbye had a great set of lyrics this time. Then came Best Of What's Around... I had never heard this song live before, but I love it even more now. Dave's vocals once again were very strong. Roi took this song too... he was hot. Lover Lay Down, another first for me, was sssssssssssssso smooth...Jimi Thing, all I can say is "BOYD!" his jam was amazing. LIOG... Los Lobos sat in on this one. Great jam. For The Beauty of Wynona...another first for me. I liked it... I think I would have rather heard Leave Me Praying, but this was cool. Then...PFWYG. What a great song... and Roi jammed with Dave, Carter, and Stefan here. NANCIES... one of my favorites...Dave and Boyd got off on this one. Then Crash. I agree with other comments... I love this song, but it "goes nowhere" live... not much room for improv, which is what I want to see. Oh well. Then Billies... moving as usual. The SMTS intro caught me offguard... I like that. And I love the new iteration of "Anyone Seen The Bridge"... it's great with Roi jamming... right in to Too Much... very hot. The boys came back to encore with Weight of The World...good song, the only time I have heard it other than bad recordings of D&T. And they finished with a strong Ants. In all, a great show. I would have liked some old stuff...Maybe True Reflections, or Granny... but a great show. At the very least, I have some great memories and a new bootleg to put in my collection...

I don't profess to be as much of a DMB expert as the people who have written reviews on earlier shows, but I'll do my best: The concert opened up with Two Step, which is what I pretty much expected based on earlier setlists. Of course, as the opening song of the concert, there was an EXTENDED intro, which suited my just fine. Carter expunged a little adreniline at the end of the song, which woke up the late-arriving crowd. Next came the combination of #41 and Say Goodbye, which made me bitter that I had gone to the concert with my sister and my friend, rather than with a lady. My bad. Maybe the next DMB concert will come at a more positive era in my love life. The transition between the two songs was quite sense, with the band taking us to the very envelope of shutting down #41, before a quick rat-a-tat by Carter brought in Say Goodbye. Man, if I loved a woman have as much as I love Say Goodbye, we'd be married tomorrow. A sweet version of Best of What's Around came next, and had me wishing that the band would re-release all their old songs, with different formats. The ones I hear in concert are awesome changes from what's on their mainstream CDs. The band slowed it down at this point for Lover Lay Down (incredibly mellow, almost sent me into hibernation) and Jimi Thing, which proved to be an opportune time for my group and I to reignite the effects of our pre-concert party in the parking lot. Lie in our Graves followed this up, with such a strange intro that I didn't even recognize it until my friend pointed it out to me. Excellent concert improvisation. After this was a new song, the title of which I couldn't understand. I'm sure someone else will fill me in on this info. Quality song though, but what else would you expect. Pay For What You Get followed this, calming me down before DMB hit me with my favorite song of all time... DANCING NANCIES!!! Honestly, it doesn't get any better than this. What can I say? It's times like this when I wonder how it's possible that DMB isn't loved by about ten times as many fans as they have now. How could someone not go crazy when they here this? Then again, It feels nice to think I know of this incredibly powerful music, along with a select few others, as if it's our own little secret. As long as they keep putting out new music and tour fairly often, I won't complain. Then came what I expected to be a little cheezy, but actually turned out to hit me pretty deep, which was Crash Into Me. Dave slowed it down even more than on the CDs, which made the high schoolers in the crowd go pretty nuts. Hopefully they'll realize that there's more to the band than just this song. If not, their loss. Next, Tripping Billies. If there's a more upbeat song than this in existent, I don't know what it is. I was tripping Don in the crowd at this point. If they hadn't played this, and played it as well and freshly as they did, I would have left a disappointed man. Thank God that didn't happen. The worst song of the concert, in my opinion, came next, So Much To Say. Frankly, they didn't say anything any different than what was on the CD version. If went almost exactly like the book. I expect other bands to pay textbook versions of their songs in concert, but not Dave. I honestly would rather have heard something different, like Granny, Song That Jane Likes, Spotlight, or Me and Julio rather than a vanilla version of this song. The encore came here, followed by another new song, the title of which I missed again because I was too far back in the general admission to hear his words perfectly. If it's the same song that they've been including in their encores in recent concerts, than I concur with other opinons that have loved this song. It's definitely a winner, and has me wishing this tour were opening up a new album, rather than closing up an old one. The final song was Ants Marching, and even though I've seen this in concert before, never have I seen it as a finale. I can now die a happy man. Overall, what would you expect, but another tremendous concert. I and the crowd loved every time the video screen close ups showed that Leroy was shredding the bow on his violin or Dave was tearing up the strings (literally) on his guitar. How much more effort can you ask for than that? The light show on the stage was pretty subdued, which I liked, since it kept the attention on the band rather than the technicians. I thought the bald haircuts on many of the band members was a nice touch, as it made their frantic playing seem even more psychotic. The day this band retires is the day I stop enjoying music. May that day never come.

The night was amazing. It was too much :) (Sorry, I know it's corny). The seats were crappy (Row U, back section) but when you're armed with binoculars and a determination to dance, it doesn't matter. Another little crappiness factor was the army of stupid girls sitting in the row behind me. They were squealing so much I thought they were pigs. "Oh my God it's Dave oh my God look at him he's so ahhh!Oh my God it's Say Goodbye oh my God Buffy look it's Say Gooodbye!"

Two Step: Great opener. We got an awesome Davedance back by the drumset in the beginning and the end of this song.

#41:I just love when Dave hits those high notes. The segue was cool-->Say Gooodbye:I would have loved to hear this song but the girls behind me chose the moment to sing along. It ruined my recording. What I did hear was some awesome new lyrics "Days go by/Maybe you and I get high"

Lover Lay Down:The song I came to hear...go Roi! I actually saw him without his sunglasses!

Lie In Our Graves:They brought out the guitarist from Los Lobos and him and and Boyd had the most beautiful duet going on on the slow part.

?:Don't know the name of this one. Reminded me of LMP.

Pay For What You Get: Totally unexpected. It brought a peacefulness among the crazy San Francisco crowd.

Dancing Nancies:I love Boyd on this one.

Crash:Beautiful background. The lighters were flying. I would have loved to hear this one too but the girls thought they might sing again.

Tripping Billies:Great lighting. Now this is an awesome live song. I could have listened to Crash Into Me on my stereo but to hear this one live gets in da bones!

So Much To Say:I dig the "baby" segue-->Too Much:Dave was tackled to the ground by some psycho chick who got dragged away imeadiately. He broke his high E string. "Gonna eat up your children, your homes ya know!"

LMP:Great lyrical song! I love the high yells Dave draws from his throat.

Ants Marching: Lights down you up and die!
