Year-End Quickies

So much is going on in DMB Land. First, Dave Matthews Band is not merely playing the opening ceremonies for the 2002 Winter Olmypics in Salt Lake City, but is also putting on a free hour-long concert at the medals plaza on February 9th. Second, a portion of a pre-recorded DMB performance will be broadcast on Dick Clark's "Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve" on ABC. (Our bet is that it will from Folsom Field.) Third, Entertainment Weekly's "Best of 2001" issue names The Lillywhite Sessions as the 4th best album of the year, despite the fact that it's never been released. Finally, Billboard crunched the numbers, and it turns out that DMB had the 5th top-grossing tour of the year, taking in $65M through the sales of 1.5 million tickets.
