The press surrounding The Lillywhite Sessions continues to flow. Most recently, Greg Kot (a dyed-in-the-wool DMB-hater) of the Chicago Tribune reviewed them quite positively as "the best Matthews album ever." VH1 columnist Bob Lefsetz raves about the album, complaining about DMB's standard excuse for what went wrong with the Lillywhites. "The record was too depressing so Dave made a sunny one instead. HOW IN THE HELL DID HE DO THIS? Whatever allowed him to turn on a dime, can Eli Lilly bottle it and sell it as a better PROZAC?" Finally, the crown jewel for Lillywhite coverage thus far, Rolling Stone's "Lost & Found," which offers truly some truly impressive information on the origins of the Lillywhites. (Or, as RS pedantically insists on referring to them, "The Summer Sessions.") Bravely, they even offer sound clips of every song. Oh, and don't miss their article that's wholly about the DMBML. How will this story end?
