Here's the setlist with just *some* of the highlights for me: ONE SWEET WORLD~ nice long intro...this has to be one of the greatest openers--sets the mood beautifully, and they played it especially for JeffK :) BOWA ~ Hartford deja vu anyone? But great to hear it again. They should definitely play this one more. 2STEP ~ "Celebrate the rain" NANCIES ~ a little bit of the Ojay's "For the Love of Money" as intro..They finally got the lights synched to the last "Look up at the Sky"..This song never fails to lift my spirits and tonite's was no exception. Enter Bela CRASH INTO ME ~ 20,000 screaming fans can't be wrong, I guess, but this song is way too intimate for me to share with the masses. SEEK UP ~ Boyd was amazing. During his solo before the Davewail, I got all verklempt...If I had to pick my favorite part of a DMB song, that'd be the one. So very poignant. I was focusing my binocs on Boyd (as I did at Jones Beach) and almost half-expected Popper to appear...But this time the spotlight was all Boyd's. (deservedly so) LIOG ~ Two words: Bela Fleck Greenpeace shpiel: "...and if there's a God, he'll say 'I know you been smoking that marijuana and sliding around in the grass up there on the lawn at that rock n' roll concert', but if you throw in a dollar or whatever you have, you'll go to heaven." Funny thing, before the show I did throw in a coupla dollars and said, "I wannna go to heaven" to the greenpeace guy. He said that Dave hadn't mentioned them the last few nights, but he got the job done last nite :) BILLIES ~ Again Boyd shined. LOVER LAY DOWN ~ Beautiful rendition, but the swooning couples were making me gag :) #41 w/Jeff Coffin & Bela Fleck ~ absofuckinglutely glorious~ SMTS>Little Baby/Bridge thingie>Too Much ~ When SMTS started, I was all psyched to hear a nice long little baby jam but it was *WAY* too short :( DIDO ~ Encore: Leave Me Praying (for lack of the true title) Ants w/BF ~ Truthfully, I was a bit dissapointed to hear the exact same closing as last nite....I mean, c'mon guys, did you think we wouldn't notice??? Wouldn't a nice jammin' #36 be orgasmic? The best part of this concert for me was sitting in the *6th* row (left of stage)and being able to take in the interaction between the guys on stage. During Bela Fleck & Tones' opener, I actually had eye contact with Bela during "Big Country"(one of my favs). When he saw me groovin', he gave me that raised eyebrow-nodding of the head thingie that said, yeah, you go girl! These guys are so fantastic. I can't wait to see more of them on their own turf. Being up close and personal is pretty weird.. Bela & Vic wander a lot and go right out to the edge of the stage. Futureman & Victor (who I believe are brothers) were so in tune with each other during some of the jams, it was as if they were one person. Luved it! Ok, enuff already. I've gotta go out and plant my window boxes. Sorry if I left anything out or rambled on, but I'm still suffering from "show lag". Bottom line-- after seeing four of the recent shows, I have come to this conclusion: Combine the freshness of the new jams and the good vibes and energy from Hartford; sprinkle in the crescent moon, the shore and the stars above at Jones Beach, mix generously with the intensity and emotion of the set on 6/12; and add the great view of it all from last nite, and you'd pretty much have the dream show for me. Oh yeah, and of course, I'd have to share it all again with the great folks I've had the pleasure of meeting the first time around...you all know who you are :)

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!!! That pretty much sums it up. DMB was on for this show!!! This was my second time seeing them, the first being last October. This was better, even though I didn't think it would ever be possible. For one thing, the enrgy was way up there, considiring they had only been on tour two weeks, and they had been on tour for months when I saw them the first time. The crowd was pretty good, which was a relief. The rain stopped about 5 minutes before the band came out, which was great. Well, here is the song-by-song... One Sweet World-Complete with old time jam in the beginning, this was a perfect opener. Best Of Whats Around-A suprise, and a good one at that. Two Step- Nothing special, but good. Nancies- Incredible! Full blown Jam and everything Crash Into Me (With Bela Fleck)- Crowd Favorite, regular, but good as ever Seek Up (W/Bela Fleck)- A huge suprise and delight Lie In Our Graves- Predictable, but great jam, expecailly w/Bela Fleck. Tripping Billies- A lot of energy. Nature intro. This was when some crowd surfing started on the lawn. (Some advise- Don't crown surf on a downward slope!!) Lover Lay Down- Not my favorite song, but a suprise. There was a pretty funny comment from the guy behind me on this song..."Dammit, its one of the boring songs. Lets go get high." #41 (w/Bela Fleck and Sax Man)- Great song, great Jam So Much To Say- Its always great to hear this song, overplayed or not. The Little Baby jam after it was particularly cool. Too Much- Typical Live version, but still good. Drive In, Drive Out- Excellent colsing song, and pretty unexpected. Weight Of The World- My friends were amazed that I didn't know the words to one of thier songs when they started this one. Turns out I've had a tape of it for a while, but I didn't recognize it at the time. A great song, though, and the only unreleased one all night. Ants (w/Bela Fleck)- Good as ever, complete with Dave and Stephan duel.

I went to both nights, and to me, the second night ruled. but both nights were incredible.. there was a lot of little tikes running around with squirt guns, but it didn't effect me. He played the same encore of Weight of the World and Ants marching. both nights..which was wicked good!! A perfect combonation.. a nice soft song, then a killer fast song to end the night!!! Two step was a favortie both nights..with him opening the 12th with it.. Lover Lay Down and Could have been were both incredible!!!! Dave played all the best songs both nighs..a excellent combonation within his CD's..some from Under the Table and Dreaming, Crash, Recently, and Remember Two Things. Of course, the band could not have performed any better or in any different mood, the atmosphere was great.. It rained a little the second night, but rain can't stop anyone!!!! Loved it!!!! The Lawn was great.. a relaxed atmosphere.. had great seats right on the fence in the front.. Of course, had to fight my way through to get them though!!!! A different addition, never heard on tour before was "Seek Up" and "Minarets".. wicked good!! The night was just excellent..any opinions..right to me at SKIme68@aol.com
