I'll Try To Sound intelligent

Well, I asked, and the response was insane. Lots of questions came from you, the readers, and it's nice to see that people are still naturally inquisitive. So without further adieu, your questions, and my answers.

From ElPensador@aol.com: "so what's the skinny on the live releases? do you have any idea what and when the new live CD will be coming out?"

I've been told they'd be cranking out a new one before Christmas, obviously to get your holiday dollar. I'm the last person you want to ask as far as "which show". Don't bother sending email to Pace on this one; he's too busy making cracks about me and cooch within a 10-mile radius.

From Sam Howell: "what do you think about the next live CD? will it still be the FloodZone mentioned before? are they just acting like they don't know what show it will be b/c we already know? could it be a different show altogether? what show would you like it to be?"

Sam, I think another live CD will look nice in my collection, but there should be more pics of the band and less of the buses; it might be the FloodZone, they deserve a good mention; none of us have a damn clue what show it is, so Red Light's not really acting; as I said above, I have no idea, and as far as which show, see my answer to ElPensador.

Jason Trenary asked, "I need to find out who to contact for the November 30th and December 1st shows at First Union Center in Philadelphia."

Jason, in cases such as this, try calling your local Ticketmaster branch. Even if you're not in Philly, your local TM branch should have a number for the Philadelphia TM, and you can order through them. However, this means you'll have to call long-distance, and have a credit card. A slight pain, but well worth it.

Vince asked, "i have a song on a tape and i have no idea what the name of it is. it is dave at the DKE house. it has redemption song, spotlight, and help myself on it. the song i am talking about i am almost 100% sure is a cover and it is a request. at the beginning he says "this is as close as i get." the lyrics that are clear are "i'll leave destiny to choose which way i go to." any info pertaning to that or anything else would be great."

No idea. Keep in mind I own hardly any bootlegs. Does anyone have an answer for Vince? Email me and let me know, so I can respond in a future column.

Now, another Jason wrote me, and he asks: "i am at college at Canton NY with is not too far from Ottawa canada..i know that matthews is playing in Ottawa on the 14th of november and tickets go on sale the 3rd of october but don't know how much it is going to be..my question for u is where can i find this info if ticketmaster does not know? i am trying to plan a trip with the college to go up there but i need to know the price before they consider..if u know where i can find this info or know someone that may be able to help me that would be awesome."

Jason, my family's from that area, mainly Pyrites and Canton, and due to that alone, I'll try to help you here. If Ticketmaster doesn't know the cost of their own tickets, my guess is because it's Ticketmaster Canada you have to deal with. This is just a guess, however. I'm not entirely sure. My advice would be to go to the TM site online, and look for a link to Ticketmaster Canada. If there isn't one, call your local TM branch (Ogdensburg, perhaps?) and see if they have a phone number for Ticketmaster in Ottawa.

So there you have it. Your questions answered. Anything else you need pondered over, give me a yell.
